Watch me grow!

Weight: 10 pounds, 5 oz. He’s up 2 lb and 7 oz. Emi weighed 9 pounds, 4 oz at 2 months old, so he’s a little bigger.

Length: 23.5”
Emi was right at 22” so he’s longer too!

Percentiles: 10% in weight, 77% in height and 49 in head circumference.

Emi was 85% in height and 10% in weight. They were the same percentiles in weight, but he’s lower in height even though he’s longer. Weird. I’m not sure how that chart works.

Eating: Well we’re about at the end of our breastfeeding journey I’m afraid. He’s still nursing, but he’ has to take a bottle right after despite the fact that he’s nursing for 20-30 minutes each time. I go back to work next week so I doubt I can maintain that.

Finding a formula that works has been difficult too. He spits up a lot so I’ve tried different kinds to help with that. He’s pretty picky so right now we’re only happy with Enfamil gentle. I bought the off brand Enfamil at Walmart and he even gives me grief for that!

Bedtime: This has gotten MUCH better! He is now in his crib and I think that helped. He goes down anywhere between 9:00-10:00.

He’ll sleep anywhere from 4-7 hours. On the day he got vaccinations he slept 8 hours. That was awesome, but only happened once.

Awake: If he wakes up around 3:30, I can usually get him to go back to sleep for a couple hours. If he wakes up closer to 4:30-5:30, he’s ready to get up. :\

Naps: Still not a fan of napping in the crib. I think I need a curtain to block out the daytime light, because he sleeps fine in there at night. He’ll nap in the swing though.

Diapers: He’s now in size ones.

Clothes: He’s now wearing mostly 0-3 months. The newborns are too tight now. Some of the 3 month onesies are fine, but the 3 month shorts/pants are too loose and fall off too easily. We’re almost there though. I have A LOT of 3 month clothes, so I’m excited for him to wear that size because we’ll be styling!

Favorites: He still loves his swing and play mat. Those are our go-tos when we’re having a rough day. He likes bath time. I wouldn't say he loves it yet, but he’s quiet when he’s in the bath.

Dislikes: Tummy time!

Not a fan of taking off or putting on clothes. Still not a fan of napping in the crib.

If I yell at the dogs, he usually cries too.

Latest accomplishment: He found his voice this month. It looks like he’s really trying to force out sounds.
He started smiling a lot.

He was evicted to his crib and he’s done well. It was a lot of walking up and down stairs for the first few days, but now he does fine when I lay him down.
He's also stayed in the church nursery for the last 3 weeks and did great. No paging.

2 year bday party vs. 3 year bday party

This year has been a fun one. She moved to a new house and school, took a trip to Michigan, mastered potty training, understood what Santa meant, made it clear that she would not play the "little-sister" roll to Bella, and became a big sister.

She's become more independent and wants to do everything for herself!

She never runs out of energy. I always have such mixed emotions on this day. On one hand I feel so full of joy for the blessing of another year with her and so excited for the year to come. But on the other hand, I feel like my heart is broken every year because we're one year closer to not needing mommy to help with bath time. We're one year closer to not needing mommy to tuck her in at bed time. We're one year closer to starting school, graduating and pulling out of the drive way that last time. We're one year closer to not needing mommy and it tears me up!

This year I asked her several questions to document her answers and see if they change. Some of her answers were pretty funny.

Favorite food: "Tomatoes, no noodles" (She changed her mind. And for the record, noodles are NOT her favorite food. I have no idea what she’s talking about!).

Favorite friend: Liam

Favorite Song: "The no-no song". She means "No" but Meagan Trainer.

Favorite thing to do: "drink" (WHAT???)
I tried again later and she told me "color time."

Favorite Color: "pink"

Favorite Parent: "mommy" (Anthony told me to ask this. That’s what he gets!)

Favorite toy: "Elsa" (Of course…)

Favorite movie: "Elsa"

Something that makes you happy: "Nonni"

Something that makes you sad: "The baby." I asked her why and she said “because he needs his mama.” She said this when he was crying.

Now for my questions that I use in her baby books:

Weight: My scale says 31 lbs. Our 3 year apt is Monday so I'll update then.
Update: 30 lb. 4 oz.

Height: According to my tape measure (haha) she's 41", but we'll get an accurate measurement on Monday.
Update: 38.75' Guess I was a little off.

Percentiles: 46% in weight and 86% in height

Favorite Foods:

Steak, yogurt, apples, fruit snacks, gold fish, cookies, grapes, strawberries, ice cream, bacon, salad, cheese, donuts, tomatoes,

Least Favorite Foods:

Sometimes it just depends on the day. Veggies are sometimes a battle and other times she won’t eat anything.

Bedtime:

We shoot for 7:30 because if she stays up later, she still wakes up at the same time. If she stays up too late it’s a disaster the next day. We'll probably move that closer to 8 or 8:30 during the summer to see if she'll start sleeping later.

Awake:

She’s up between 7:00 and 7:30 every morning without fail.

Clothes:

She’s mostly in 3T. Thankfully the pants have the adjusters in them to make them smaller in the waist, but 2T wouldn’t be long enough. Some 3T tops are too small and she could almost wear 4T in PJs.

Words:

She can carry on full conversations now. My favorites that she says is “just one” when she’s negotiating. She also tells me to “tie me up” when she gets out of the bath. She means “wrap me up” in the towel.

She loves to talk about her “harsies” which are her horses.

When she’s not sure if she’s in trouble or not she’ll ask “you happy?”

Nufing= nothing
The other day she told me she had a burger in her nose.

Favorites:
ELSA. If she could run away and live with Elsa, she would. I wish I could go back to the day I introduced her to Elsa because it’s driven me crazy ever since!

She still loves to go to the park and play outside. She now has a bicycle, but she hasn’t figured out how to ride it.

She loves to pick out her own clothes, which usually means some sort of Elsa dress.

She loves to help with whatever you’re doing. Sometimes this comes in handy like when doing laundry or sweeping the floor, but not so handy when you’re bathing the baby.

Latest Accomplishments:

We are fully potty trained! Thank the Lord! She is still using pull ups at night, but she’s been told that as soon as summer gets here, she’s losing those for good! We should have already made the switch, but it was a battle I didn't want to fight until summer.

She took another plane trip this year and did great!

We did not take one sick day for her this school year!!! That’s a miracle!

She sleeps in a big-girl bed and made the change with NO problems. She never comes out of her room until you tell her it's okay. I didn't teach that so I just got lucky! But it's also why I haven't thrown away the night time pull ups. The lazy part of me doesn't want to tell her it's okay to get out of bed at night.

She became a proud big sister. She’ll tell you she’s not a baby because she’s a big sister.

Struggles this year:

Potty training kicked our butt! Next time around I don’t think I’ll start until I’m ready. That was the #1 problem. I wasn’t ready to go full throttle so the laziness on my part made for a bad start.
She was NOT happy to find out that there would be a baby in this house. But that all went out the window the day he got here. She is over the moon.

Funny stories this year:

Bella and I were asking her what she ate for lunch at school. She kept telling us something that we couldn’t understand. After asking her to repeat herself several times she finally got fed up with telling us so she said “goldfish” in an exasperated voice. She definitely was not saying goldfish before, but she wanted us to stop talking.
