Emi according to mommy:

Weight: According to my home scale, she's 35 pounds. Our dr. apt isn't until the 8th so I'll update then, but that's 5 pounds more than last year if it's accurate.

Height: 42"
Weight: 35 lbs
Percentiles: Height: 90% Weight: 54%

Favorite Foods: Pizza, chicken, grapes, candy, donuts, apples, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, cinnamon toast, pasta

Least Favorite foods: Meats are pretty hard sometimes. Sometimes she loves it and others she tells me “that’s disgusting” before she’ll even try it. Steak is a sometimes which is weird! We go through phases too. Sometimes I can’t feed her enough and sometimes she doesn’t want anything. We struggle with snacks. She thinks she needs a snack alllll day long and then when we get to meals, she’s not hungry. We’ve been working on that for a while now.

Bedtime: I shoot for 7:30 but it’s usually closer to 7:45 and sometime 8:00. It’s a battle getting her to stay in bed and I can’t tell if it helps to send her to bed later so she’s more tired, or put her to bed earlier and go through the struggle earlier and hopefully falls asleep earlier so she gets enough sleep. I don’t know which is better. I do know that she gets up after we go to bed pretty frequently because Bella will still be awake and catch her. She’s also not really good at covering her tracks when she drags out a whole lot after bedtime. She’d stay up all night if I’d let her. I keep threatening to put a camera back in her room. Unfortunately the receiver to my monitor in Eli’s room broke so I’d have to buy the whole kit again which I’m so not going to do!
The night before her birthday party, she cut the biggest chunk of her hair sometime during the night. I resulted in a nice a-line bob.

Awake: It depends on the day. Which I guess depends on what time she actually fell asleep. Most mornings 6:30 is difficult. And other mornings she’ll shoot up right at 6:45. When we’re lucky she’ll sleep to 8:00 but that’s rare. I’m sure this summer it’ll be around 7:00 each morning.

Clothes: She can still wear 4T. Some things are too short, but 5Ts only work if there’s a waist adjuster. Tshirts and PJs we buy in 5T. It’s her feet that are so big though! Size 11.5 and the socks we buy in the regular kids section because the toddler section socks are too small.

Words: There’s NOTHING she doesn't know now. We have worked on her manners and how to ask full questions with please and thank you a lot! She’s getting good at it at home. She says “yes, ma’am/no ma’am/yes/no sir” without being prompted as often. But I got a note recently from her school about her table manners and saying please/thank you, so it’s not fully translating to other places yet. We’ll get there.

Favorites:
Her Elsa obsession is starting to lessen. We like Moana and Trolls and Little Mermaid pretty equally now.
She loves to dress herself which is scary most days. She loves to be outside and she’s so excited about swimming lessons and the pool opening up. She’s already practicing in the bathtub.

Latest accomplishments:
She went on several fun trips this year. We went to Florida and she saw the beach for the first time. She still talks about it!
She took her first trip to the snow. We unfortunately didn’t see a lot of snow, but she had a great time anyway.
She also met the princesses in Disneyland.
She knows all her letters and can name words that start with each. She’ll show me a D and say it’s a D for donuts. Or a J for mommy’s name.
She’s learned to color in the lines. But personally, I loved when she filled the whole page up. Now she’s learned at school that you’re supposed to color only in the lines. :(
Potty training was a beat down last summer, but we finally got there. She was already “potty trained” last summer, but we took away pull ups at night and stopped calling accidents accidents; they’re sad choices. We have very few accidents anymore even at night!

Struggles this year:
Potty training was hard, but once we started being consistent, the issues got better way faster!
For the first half of 3 I wasn’t sure we were going to survive. She thought she was boss and we had to do some trial and error finding a type of discipline that worked for her. She’s not an easy kid to discipline. But around January, we started to make a turn and now I don’t find myself going to pick them up from school quite so late anymore.
She had a hard time adjusting to the structure of her new preschool. Good grief! Whatever she does during circle time seems to be the worst. She doesn’t want to sit still for however long they’re there.
We went through a rough phase.  At one point I had to ask for her to be moved away from the table she was sitting,  because I noticed some behaviors during that time that were never there before. I did have to remind her teacher that I didn’t expect a baby genius. I was ok if she couldn’t read full paragraphs by the time she went to kindergarten. I feel like they get a lot of pressure these days to make everyone ahead of the game, but I picked the place because they promised learning through play and experience. I had to remind her of that.

Apparently playgrounds are very dangerous places. Emi knocked her tooth on one at Chic Fil A. It bled for a minute and I didn’t think about it again. Then a few days later I picked her up from school with a massive abscess!

Funny Stories This Year:
She mimics everything now so we’ve had a few funny stories from that.
The most recent funny story (and hopefully I don’t get in trouble for posting this) was after we went to a friend’s baby shower. Emi was apparently told that the baby was in her belly. So she tells me this and I remind her of how Eli was in mommy’s belly recently too. She thinks a minute and says very matter-of-factually, “my daddy and papa Jon must have babies in their bellies too”. I nearly died laughing so hard.
