6 month update

Weight: 16lb 13.4 oz

Length: 28.25"

Percentiles: weight- 35%, height- 97%

Eating: He had a hard time when he started school eating baby food. I had to explain to them that you have to leave the spoon in his mouth for him to chew it off rather than remove the spoon right away. When you remove the spoon he spits it out right away.
He's eating around 5, 8, noon with a veggie, 4 with a fruit/veggie and then last bottle around 7:00.

Bedtime: We have been trying for 7, but since starting school he's usually in bed by 6:45. If I can hold him off until after 7, he will usually sleep through the night.

Awake: Sometimes midnight, sometimes 4:30, sometimes 5:15. LOL. If he wakes up before 5, it's just once. And if he makes it until 5 then we get up and start the day.
On the weekends he sometimes goes back to be after 5:00 and sometimes he's ready to play!
Towards the end of the month he has slept through the night a couple of times. Of course I always wake up thinking something isn't right.

Naps: He started napping in his crib!! Finally! But he usually naps for only 45 minutes. He's not a big napper. He napped once at day care for 2.5 hours, but he also didn't feel well.

Diapers: He's in a size 3. I tried to use up the rest of the 2s, but failed. Oh well. Had to donate.

Clothes: 9 month onesies because he's so long, but 6 months if it's pants since he's so skinny. Tall and skinny. Whose kids are these???

Favorites: He loves to put anything and everything in his mouth.
When he's excited, he loves to kick his legs as fast as possible.
He loves music.
He loves his bouncer as long as someone is in the room with him.
He loves to sit up.
He loves his younger sister. I throw him  in bed with her in the morning to wake her up, and they just stare at each other and giggle. It's the most precious thing.

Dislikes: He got an ear infection this month and they gave him meds. He is sooooooo dramatic! He hates the medicine to the point that I have to hold him down, force his head up, and shoot it down his throat and wait for him to swallow before I release his head.
The ear infection didn't go away after the first round of meds so we started something else and he didn't hate that as much. But it did make his poop red which totally freaked me out!

Latest accomplishment: He can now roll both directions.
He can grab anything and put it in his mouth.
He can almost put his paci back in his mouth when it falls out.

I wasn't good at documenting with pics this month! I guess that's because I went back to work. :/

5 months

Weight: My home scale says 16.2 lbs.

Eating: On a good day we're eating at 5, 8, 12, 5, and 7. I have done my best to stretch the 3:00 feeding closer to 5 and he's starting to give in the battle.
We started with cereal this month and then switched to veggies. He HATES pretty much everything we try. So far we have tried green beans, squash, peas, and sweet potatoes. The only one he tolerates is sweet potatoes. I wanted to delay fruits so he didn't get used to the sweetness, but I went ahead and tried just to get him to eat.
So he's eaten apples and bananas but he hates bananas. Guess we're just going to keep trying.

Bedtime: I've moved his bed time closer to 7:30 and trying to get Emi in bed by 8. It's been hard with summer ending and us trying to get our last minute events packed in, but when I do get him in bed by 7:30, he doesn't fight it.

Awake: I googled sleep training techniques this month and tried out a few things. Up until this month, whenever he woke up I would immediately pick him up, change him and then feed him. I decided to try to give him the paci first and quit changing him. Most times this works.
By 5:00, he's ready to eat though and normally he'll go back to sleep until 7:00ish. That's going to change soon though, because we'll be leaving around 7:00 to get to day care.

Naps: He's not great at a nap schedule, but he's definitely taking 2 naps per day at varying lengths. I'm hoping when he starts day care he'll have a more consistent schedule.

Diapers: I'm trying to use up my size 2s, but I have a case of Target brand that I'm going to take back to get size 3s. He's pretty much busting out of 2s.

Clothes: He's solidly in 6 month clothes and can probably wear 9 months, but I don't have many of those. He's skinny though so the bigger pants don't stay in place.

Favorites: He loves his blanket that has the bear attached.
Anything he can stick in his mouth.
He loves to be talked to.
He loves to grab hair.
Rolling over.

Dislikes:
He got another cough when we got back from Florida. It doesn't seem to bother him, but mommy dislikes it!
He hates being stuck in the car seat or stroller for very long.
BABY FOOD.

Latest accomplishment: He started rolling over this month, but since he's big chested, he can roll over from back-front, but not front-back.
