12 month update

What a month this was. He spent 8 days out of day care because of strep and RSV. It kicked our butts! There were lots of cuddles to go around though!
He's such a happy baby. He's brought so much joy to our family this last year!
He has such a personality. He will talk to anyone that will give him the time of day! But don't pick him up! haha. Happy birthday sweet boy! We love you!

Weight:
22 lb even.

Height:
31.1"

Percentiles: Height- 84th %
Weight- 36%
Head Circumference 79% (I knew he had a big head!)

Eating:
Switching him to a sippy cup has been WAY harder than it was with Emi. We’re not here yet, but I have a feeling I’m going to have to just throw them out at some point!
He eats all normal food. He’s more sensitive to spice than Emi was too.
He eats 3 meals/bottles a day and then he has one in the morning before we leave for school. I should have already dropped that one, but Emi still drinks milk and has a first breakfast before we leave for school too so I guess this isn’t the end of the world.

Bedtime:
Still around 7:30. Sometimes closer to 8:00, but I usually try to put him down a little earlier than Emi so we can read and do the “big girl” bed time.

Awake:
He’s usually up straight up at 6:00. Sometimes earlier. We spent most of this month trying to recover from strep and RSV so he would wake up earlier due to coughing fits.

Naps:
He still takes a pretty long morning and afternoon nap. I’m hoping to keep the afternoon nap pretty long through the summer and maybe give up the morning one once summer gets here.

Diapers:
Still in 4s.

Clothes:
18 month PJs for sure!
18 month clothes are hit or miss. Pants are really baggy.
12 month tops and onesies look too small though. So basically we’re in between.

Favorites:
He loves to stand on everything. He loves to get into the DVD cabinet. He loves outside and looking out the windows.
He loves to swing.
He loves to be held, but only if you're standing up.
He loves his neck to be tickled.

Words:
Da-da
UH-ohhhh
Up
He said “mama” once

Struggles:
This month was more of the same! Still fighting RSV and strep. That was brutal! He was also fighting teeth too.
He hates meds so that was a problem with all our sicknesses.

11 Month Update

Since we've had RSV and strep, taking pics has been impossible. I thought we would eventually get well enough to snap an 11 month pic, but at this point we're closer to 12 months than 11!

Weight: Since we’ve been in and out of the doctor this month we were weighed with their scale.
He weighs 22 lbs and is up in the 50th percentile.

Eating: He loves peanut butter sandwiches. And he likes to take bites of daddy’s food rather than his cut up pieces. He still drinks 4 bottles per day and we’re trying really hard to switch to the sippy cup. He was very particular about the type of bottle we used and he is being equally picky about the sippy cup. Emi was already off the bottle by this point. He’s more of a challenge in this department.

Bedtime: Still no change here. In bed by 7:30. On the weekends, sometimes 8.

Awake: Still around 6:30. While he was sick we got a couple 7:30s.

Naps: Still 2 a day. Both are usually 1.5-2 hours.

Diapers: Moved up to 4s. 3s would still fit, but they were harder to cover everything up. 4s are a little big but he fights hard during diaper changes and 4s make it less of a struggle.
Clothes: 12 month everything. He can wear some 18 month onesies and t-shirts.

Favorites: He’s started to notice the dogs. He likes to chase them, but they’re much faster.
He loves to eat.
He loves to stand.
He loves to play with Emi.
He equally loves to fight with Emi.
He loves the remote and my cell phone.

Latest accomplishment:
Nothing new really. He does like clapping to get people to say “yay” but that’s not really new.
He’s starting to sign better when he’s done. I’m not as diligent with this as I was with Emi.
Dislikes: He hates medicine which is a problem when you catch every germ under the sun!
He hates the sippy cup.

10 month update

Weight: My scale said 20 lb this morning. Thankfully he’s back to gaining weight after losing so much. Now maybe his pants will start staying on again.
Eating: He loves spaghetti and pizza. If he sees food, he wants a bite.
He’s more sensitive to spice than Emi was so if food is spicy I have to give him something else.
He LOVES peanut butter sandwiches. He’ll eat a whole one by himself.
He’s still taking 4 bottles a day. The morning one is more for my sanity. I’m sure he could probably do without it and I said I was going to start reducing it, but I prefer sanity right now.
Bedtime: Not much has changed here. He’s usually in bed by 7:30 and asleep by 7:45. We did have to lower his crib and then right after he needed it lowered again. He stands up as soon as you put him down, but he doesn’t fight for long.
Awake: Usually by 6:30. If it’s earlier, I’ve been making him wait until I’m mostly dressed or at least my hair is done. He usually doesn’t mind. If he’s freaking out I’ll get him a littler earlier.
Naps: Still 2 a day. Both are usually 1.5-2 hours.

Diapers: Still in 3s. We’re getting close to 4s again so maybe by the end of this month we’ll start using our 4s.
Clothes:  9-12 months. We’re almost solidly back to 12 months again. 9 month pants are too short, but it depends on the brand whether 12 months will stay on or not.
PJs are all 12 months for sure!
Favorites: Daddy. Emi was a mommy’s girl and would have periods of time that she wanted daddy. Eli’s happy to see me when I pick him up from day care, but after that he wants daddy only.
He loves to eat.
He loves standing on everything!
He loves banging on Emi’s piano.
He likes to be left alone when he’s playing Emi tries to make him do what she wants to do and he lets her know he has his own ideas.
Latest accomplishment:
He started standing on everything. He had already pulled up once or twice before, but now he's pulling up on everything. It's a problem in the bathtub.
He took his first plane ride this month. The flight to Santa Fe was great because he slept the whole time. The flight home, however, was more difficult because he wanted to be moving and Emi was wanting my attention too. It wasn't quite a disaster, but close.
He started crawling up the stairs.
Anthony said he saw him take a couple of steps, but I haven't seen it yet.
He started saying da-da. And he knows EXACTLY what it means!
He started crawling away from me when I was unpacking his suitcase. I thought he was fine since the gate was closed. Next thing I knew, I heard a SPLASH and he was back in the bathtub with sister PJs and all.
Dislikes: We had a stomach bug this month which put us in the ER for fluids. He wasn’t a fan of the IV but who can blame him??
He’s not a fan of having his hair rinsed in the bathtub. I tell him with his genes, he should enjoy it while he has it!
He’s not a fan of being told no. He knows he’s not supposed to pull things off the entertainment cabinet, so he’ll look back
