15 Weeks

15 weeks with baby boy
15 weeks with Emi. This was a ROUGH picture!!

How far along?  15 weeks!

Size of baby? The bump app says the size of an orange!!Image result for orange

Heartbeat? At the 12 week it was 175. Our next appointment is next Thursday!

Total weight gain/loss? +4 yikes!! It's too early for this one pound per week business!

Maternity clothes? Almost. My dress pants fit in the mornings, but by afternoon I’m unbuttoning! I can’t wear any of my old jeans, so if I wear jeans it’s maternity.
Still looking for a few dresses I can wear with boots. Eventually I’ll go to the mall, but I’m so not motivated for that right now!

Stretch marks? Just the ones left over from Emi on my hip.

Sleep? This week I went to bed before 8:00! So tired! We finally got a new bed, so that helped the quality of sleep!

Best moment this week? Getting bedding for baby boy! Navy, grey and red planes! So cute! I’m feeling motivated to paint his room, but we’ll see.

Movement? If I sit really still I feel bouncing around so I’m figuring that’s him.

Food cravings? Water! If I don’t get enough water during the day, my body lets me know it!

Gender predictions? Boy! I’ve started purging through the clothes that I saved of Emi’s! So sad!!  But Eventually I’ll make room for the boy stuff we’ll be adding soon!

What I miss: Energy!

What I'm looking forward to: The weather cooling down so my maternity clothes work.

How are you feeling? Headaches have started. Bummer!

14 weeks

Apparently I didn't take a 14 week picture last time.

How far along?  14 weeks!

Size of baby? The bump app says the size of a lemon!Image result for lemon

Heartbeat? At the 12 week it was 175. We’ll find out again in a couple weeks.

Total weight gain/loss? +3. It’s a little too early to gain a pound a week!!

Maternity clothes? Jean, yes. Everything else I’m still using from regular. Some of my dress pants that button on both sides are getting difficult. I keep looking for dresses with the empire waist, but those are hard to find.

Stretch marks? Just the ones left over from Emi on my hip.

Sleep? Our bed broke (that’s a dumb story) so we’re sleeping on a mattress on the floor until I can get to a store this weekend.  I am certainly not a fan of sleeping on the floor! Especially when I have to get up 3-4 times per night!

Best moment this week? Surviving another week! I have never been more tired in my whole life!!

Movement? I don’t think so, but I do feel fluttering so maybe.

Food cravings? Maybe yogurt. I never want yogurt, so maybe that’s a craving. I also crave water!

Gender predictions? Harmony test said BOY!! Now time to think of names. Haha! Good luck!

What I miss: My clothes fitting!

What I'm looking forward to: Getting the rest of Emi’s clothes out of the room so I can start organizing what I have and setting up for a boy!

How are you feeling? Stomach wise- good. Energy- not so good!!

13 weeks!

Baby Boy
13 weeks with Emi
This time I decided to take pics in the morning so I don't look like I've been through a marathon like I do at the end of the day!

How far along?  13 weeks! Yay 2nd trimester!

Size of baby? The bump app says the size of a peach!Image result for peach

Heartbeat? At the 12 week it was 175 which confirmed my belief that I was carrying a girl.

Total weight gain/loss? +2, but since I was down 2 last week I guess I gained 4! Yikes! I guess that's what happens when you stop puking or being so sick at night!

Maternity clothes? I was hoping to hold out until 15 weeks, but I'm not sure I'm going to make it. I've been internet shopping for some dresses because I just hate the idea of those stupid bands and even the high rise stretchy stuff built into pants. I just want to wear dresses and boots all fall, but maternity dresses are hard to come by! I can't find any that aren't Kim Kardashian tight and I can't wear that even when I'm not pregnant!!

Stretch marks? Just the ones left over from Emi on my hip. Lots of veins popping up again though.

Sleep? I have stopped waking up so much now. Now it's just 2-3 times per night. I'm trying not to drink many liquids past 7:30 though.

Best moment this week? Finding out the gender. The nurse called Wednesday to give us the results of our Harmony test. Everything came back normal so that was a relief!!

Movement? Not yet. Things feel like they're moving, but I don't think that's baby. I think that's just my body saying it doesn't like the changes!

Food cravings? Not really cravings. I like yogurt again and I wasn't really a fan for a while so I guess maybe that counts. Been eating a lot of fruit, but I think that's because I'm trying not to snack so much. I'm hungry ALL the time though!!

Gender predictions? Harmony test said BOY!! I was completely surprised because I was certain this was a girl. I had Anthony convinced he was a girl factory! He texted people that it turns out he's not a girl factory after all! haha!

What I miss: Not being so tired. I wish I could enjoy the afternoons and go outside, but I just count down minutes until bed time! It doesn't help that Emi isn't napping at school and it beyond cranky at home after school!

What I'm looking forward to: Really I'm just looking forward to enjoying the fall with Emi before there's another person to take the attention. I can't wait to take her to Baylor games and fall festivals and Thanksgiving. I want to spend as much time with Bella and Emi before another baby takes over. I'm super excited about the baby, but I know it'll change the dynamic that we have and it makes me a little sad.
Of course I'm excited about finding boy stuff to add to our house too. I already have ideas for a nursery and colors and clothes. Those things are always exciting.

How are you feeling? Not as nauseous thankfully. Still taking my anti-nausea meds though because whenever I don't I feel awful the entire day. Very happy and relieved that all of our tests and appointments have come back positive because it's been a little bit of a roller coaster with this pregnancy. I didn't experience any complications with Emi, and after losing one last Spring, I've been worried with all the excitement!

12 weeks

Heartbeat? 175- I totally think it's a girl. At this point Emi's was 172.

Total weight gain/loss? -2 But everything is a little tighter! My jeans are the worst!

Maternity clothes? Not yet. I’m trying to hold out as long as possible, but some of my pants and shorts are too tight. And I HATE the belly band!

Stretch marks? Just the ones left over from Emi on my hip.

Sleep? I get up about every 2 hours to go to the bathroom.

Best moment this week? Taking gender reveal pics with Emi. She didn't exactly cooperate, but they were still cute.

Movement? Not yet, but lots of little flutterings.

Food cravings? No cravings yet, but at night I can’t real
ly eat much, especially meats!
Gender predictions? The heartbeat is fast and I’m sick at night like I was with Emi, so I’m guessing girl. We did the genetic testing this time so we should know next week.

What I miss: Wine! :(

What I'm looking forward to: Finding out the gender and telling people.

How are you feeling? TIRED!!! Way more tired than I was with Emi! Plus there's been a lot of ups and downs with this one. We had a few scares, but everything seems to have leveled out.

Building a House

The Ashton Woods realtor suggested that we document each stage of our home building so we could look back on the process later. I didn't take a picture every day, but whenever you could see a noticeable change I took a picture.

The lot we picked out on February 1st.

Right after signing the papers.

February 8th we got our sold sign. Glad I took a picture because as soon as they started work, the sign was gone!

February 18th we had our first home design meeting where we picked out the interior.

Some things we picked:
Stove

Farm sink

Kitchen colors

Master bath colors

Front door

Vent

We waited a month and when we returned from our cruise on March 17th, they had boards up.

April 6th, they laid the foundation.

April 11th we had boards.

April 15th we had a second story.

April 18th it had been roughed in.

May 26th, the brick had started to go up.

And cabinets were installed

Doors had been delivered.

Kitchen was taking form.

Stair railing was up.

May 31st the painting process had started.

You can now see the bead-board on the cabinets.

Emi's 24 month update

This kid has kept us laughing the last few months. She has a personality that is unmistakable. She will definitely be a strong willed child, but that’s okay. She’s loving and wants to help all the time. She wants to help with the dishes and put your shoes on you if you take them off.
She’s constantly giving kisses. Dropping her off in the mornings right now is awful because all she wants to do is hug and give kisses, which makes me hate leaving! She puts her shoes away when we get there and then comes RUNNING back to give me a hug. It’s so cute.
Her attitude is a mile high! This month she wanted Anthony to read a book. She kept handing it to him saying “read please.” He kept telling her to read it to him, and after nicely asking a few times, she slammed the book in his lap and said “read, please, NOW!”
She says “tink you” after you give her anything meaning “thank you.” It’s so sweet.
Little body/Big Attitude
She’s a stinker though. She’ll do what she wants when she wants, and she wants to do everything by herself! She’s spent countless times in time-out because she thinks she’s in charge.
I remember when she was nearly one how much she drove me crazy. She couldn’t do anything for herself, but wanted to and couldn’t express what she wanted so she screamed a lot. Now she’s talking and taken on a personality that’s all her own and it’s so fun seeing her change and learn new things. I asked her what she was doing the other day when she was playing with kitchen bowls. She said “I cook.” I think it’s crazy how she knew exactly what she was doing and we never really worked on learning that word.
We love her so much, terrible twos and all!

Weight:
24 lb 14 oz

Height
35.5'  or 2' 11.5"
Percentiles:
in weight: 44%
in height 88%
weight/length combo: 12th%

Favorite Foods:
Apples and Bananas. She says  “APPLE” all the time when she’s hungry.
Banana is a word that sounds likes she’s saying “nahnahnah”. It’s not quite “nana”.
She still loves beans and rice.
She really likes pork chops, which I thought was weird.
She loves all fruit.
She loves cheese.
She loves bacon.

Least Favorite Foods:
It’s hit or miss with chicken. Some times she likes it and other times she eats everything around it, even if it’s chicken nuggets.
The veggies were a struggle this month. She’d much rather have fruit or meat than each squash or carrots.

Bedtime:
Bedtime has gotten later recently. We are still shooting for 8:00, but several days she’s not in bed until 8:30 and she talks to herself until 9:00 and later. If she’s not in her crib by 8:30 at the latest she struggles to fall asleep.

Awake:
This depends every day. Sometimes it’s as early as 6:30 and as late as 8:30. She usually tries to sleep in on the days we can’t, and on the days we can, she’s up before 7:00.
Hopefully this summer she’ll learn to love to sleep in! ;)

Clothes:
This is tricky. She’s tall, but skinny. She can still wear some 18 mo clothes, but if it’s pants they’re WAY too short!
Some 2T stuff fits like tops and dresses, but the bottoms seem to be too big.
24 months is probably best, but it’s hard to find those. I can usually find 18 mo or 2T.

Words:
Goodness… She’ll repeat anything. And by anything I mean ANYTHING!!
My favorites though are:
“hel me” which is “help me.”
"hode you" which is "hold me."
“peeease” which is “please.”
“tink oo” which is “thank you.”
“yes am” which is “yes ma’am.”
“wuv oo” which is “love you.”
She can say all of her grandparents names.
She loves the word “happy.”
She’ll say “sissy” but not Bella.
“Mommy” changed to “mum” this last month. Apparently she’s British.
“mulk” is milk.
She’ll say “oocy” which is her friend Lucy and “eye-ee” which is Ellie.
She can also say cook, juice, daddy, no, yes, outside, bye-bye, potty, eww, diaper, shirt, shoes, socks, dog, kitty, donut, bath, play, down, eat, now, read, go, tea, ice, and I’m sure there are many more I’m forgetting right now.
She can also put together 2 and 3 word sentences. This week she stuck her butt out at me and said "Mommy I poop." haha.

Favorites:
She likes to put things in the trash. It’s helpful sometimes, but she tries to sneak things in there when I’m not looking. I’m sure I’ll realize something is missing soon enough.
She loves to put on clothes when I’m folding, especially someone else’s panties. She’ll put on 3 and 4 layers.
She likes to do things herself like put her shoes on or pick out her cup. And forget trying to feed her. If she doesn’t do it herself, she won’t eat it!
Let's Eat!
She loves ice. I know this is a bad habit, but I have no idea how she started asking for ice.
She loves to play with her baby dolls and pretend like she’s feeding them or putting them to bed.
She loves going to the park or being outside.
She loves her motorized car she got for Christmas.
She loves trying to delay bedtime as long as possible!
She loves feeding the dogs. She puts pieces of food through the kennel when we put them up.

Latest Accomplishments:
She started using the potty since I last updated. She does really well at school, but at home it’s been a struggle! She screams like you’re killing her. But this last month we’ve had more and more successful attempts at home.
She can blow her own nose. And she thinks it’s hilarious. I gave her a rag to clean up her spilled milk the other day and she took it and blew her nose. She’ll sometimes blow it without any rag or tissue.
She spent her first 8 nights away from Mommy. She stayed with Nonni and Aunt Maggie in Burnet while we were on our cruise. She did great, but drops offs at day care became a little more sad because she didn’t want Mommy to leave. She has just started to not be so clingy after that.

Sick little girl!
Struggles this month
She caught several bugs this last 6 months.
She also has several boo boos because she doesn’t look when she walks
Potty training as also been a struggle although we are improving.
We NEVER sit still so taking a picture is a comedy act! The arboretum and bluebonnet pictures were a joke!
