37 weeks- The end is in sight!

37 weeks

37 weeks with Emi

How far along? 37 weeks, but the doctor said he had a growth spurt between last week and this week. She said he's measuring closer to 38 weeks.

Size of baby? The bump app says the size of a Winter Melon.

Heartbeat?  I think she said 140 on Tuesday

Total weight gain/loss? Not sure. I'll weigh tomorrow, but definitely more than with Emi. The doctor scale was higher than the last week with Emi so that makes me frustrated.

Maternity clothes? Yep. I'll be so glad when I'm done with them. I want to wear more than the same 8 outfits every week.

Stretch marks? Still just the ones from Emi. Although the dark line has finally appeared.

Sleep? Not good sleep because everything hurts, but the week as a whole was way better than last night. Last night I slept maybe 2 hours because my stomach hurt so badly. I think I had really bad heartburn which then turned into stomach pain. I nearly told Anthony we needed to go to the hospital, but I did not want to be the person that goes to the hospital only to be turned away for gas or something like that.

Best moment this week? Got more work in the nursery done. Just need to hang a couple more things and it will be complete.

Movement? Lots of moving, but also lots of Braxton Hicks so maybe the movements aren’t really movements.

Food cravings? Water. I want water all the time. And I’m hungry all the time! I don’t necessarily want anything in particular, but I feel nauseous again if I don’t eat.

Gender predictions? Boy. Still no definite name.

What I miss: Energy. I want to be able to take Emi outside and not want to die.

What I'm looking forward to: This being over!! I know that brings its own trials and difficulties, but I’m ready for it.

How are you feeling? See above! LOL. Too tired to answer this that’s for sure!!

35 Weeks

35 weeks with Emi
35 weeks. My face says it all!

How far along? 35 weeks

Size of baby? The Bump app says the size of a large coconut

Heartbeat? I think at last week's apt it was 131.

Total weight gain/loss?

Maternity clothes? Yep, just trying to get by with what I have too. No need to buy anything else for 5 weeks. I did go and buy some pants to wear in the hospital. Nice soft, stretchy pants that won't rub the incision. I plan on wear those for a few weeks after delivery!

Stretch marks? Still just the ones left over from Emi. But I have nerve pain from stretching on my stomach so I hope that doesn't leave marks when I'm done. It feels like my whole stomach is sun burned, but nothing visual yet.

Sleep? Just painful! I am only comfortable for about 30 minutes at a time. It was definitely not this bad last time around!

Best moment this week? I got some more done in his room. I just need some frames for the posters I bought and some trinkets to go on the shelves that I hung.

Movement? He moves ALL THE TIME! I guess it was a little less this week. Maybe he's out of room! I get less jabs, but he moves at night like he's running a marathon. As long as he keeps his feet out of my rib cage on the right side I'm good. And of course as I typed this, he stuck his foot right in that sore spot!

Food cravings? I want salads when we go places, but I don't want to make them at home. I want a nice big salad with chicken and lots of veggies!

Gender predictions? Still a boy- Down to 2 names (although don't tell Anthony, but I know I've won! ;))

What I miss:  Sleep! And energy! And peace and quiet. With Emi there were just dogs to take care of. Now there's a toddler, a teenager and her grades, and 2 dogs that I barely like most days and there's never quiet!

What I'm looking forward to: Finishing up the room. I put together a bright red book shelf over winter break and put a few books on it. It needs some more decor though because most of the shelves are empty. And Emi keeps taking his books away so it's basically just an empty book shelf.
This week I hung up some brown floating cube shelves that just need some trinkets to go on them.
I also hung the Velveteen Rabbit painting.
My plane posters finally came in that I need to hang. I'm looking for 2 red and 2 navy 16X20 frames. I'm sure Michael's will have them.

I have one more thing on Etsy I'm ordering, but I need a name for it. It's one of those peel and stick vinyl decorations that will have a plane spelling his name behind it.
It's coming together.
I got my rocker so I just need a navy or red pillow. I haven't figured out curtains yet, but maybe he won't need them with the blinds. I did really like how dark Emi's room was with her curtains; especially at nap time in the middle of the day! So maybe I'll find some navy, black-out ones.

If he came today, it would be ready enough. The furniture is in place and there's bedding in the crib. The rocker is ready with the lamp and the pump next to it on the rocker end table. I just need the lamp shade from Target that I want and a light bulb would probably help. haha.

How are you feeling? Thankfully I've avoided most sicknesses this winter. (Yes, I'm knocking on wood!) There's been a nasty stomach bug that has swept my school and friends and Emi has had some virus, but I've managed to steer clear.
Everything else is awful though! My ankles are extremely swollen to the point that the dr warned me last visit of bed rest if I didn't watch it. I'm doing my best to sit during the day, but that isn't always possible. After waking up, all of my legs joints are swollen and hurt. When I get up in the middle of the night to use the restroom, I have to pause for a minute to let the pain in my knees and ankles pass before I start walking.
I have nerve pain on the right side of my belly. Clothes hurt to the touch and when I bend over I want to die! Hopefully that pain goes away, but it scares me that it's nerve related.
I take heartburn meds before every meal.
So basically I can't wait for it to be over! Haha. But I know it'll all be worth it and of course I'll forget soon enough how much I hate being pregnant.

32 Weeks

32 Weeks
Apparently I didn't take pics with Emi again until week 35. I was apparently feeling over it at this point last time too!

How far along?
32 weeks- The first 8 weeks went really fast, but I have a feeling the last 8 are not going to feel nearly as fast!

Size of baby? The bump app says the size of a squash.

Heartbeat? 138 BPM at the last apt

Total weight gain/loss? I was finally brave enough to step on the scale. So far I have gained 23 lbs. So if it's true that you gain a pound/week in the last 8 weeks, then I'll be close to what I gained with Emi- around 35ish. That's not too bad. I was hoping to stay under 40 so if I can be careful I'll be under 40.

Maternity clothes? Yep. I'm trying not to buy anything else. Maybe a shower outfit and that's it!

Stretch marks?  Not any new ones yet.

Sleep? UGH!!! I know I won't sleep after he's here too, but at least there will be something to show for it! Right now I sleep for 30ish minutes and my hips start to ache so I have to roll over to the other side. And the dreams are just ridiculous!

Best moment this week? I survived?

Movement? There is still so much movement. Especially at night. I think he moves all night long. He's more still during the day, but at night he's turning cart wheels. Emi didn't move nearly as much and she certainly didn't hurt when she moved. He will run his foot or hand across my belly and you can feel the hardness of his bones!

Food cravings?  I have more of a sweet tooth. Some kids had some Girl Scout cookies in class and I nearly lost it! I told her not to bring them back unless she was bringing me some! So her mom brought me some!

Gender predictions? Still a boy. No name.

What I miss: Eating food without wanting to die afterwards.

What I'm looking forward to:  Being done!!!

How are you feeling? I'm pretty sure my pelvic bones are breaking! Moving hurts!!

31 weeks!

How far along? 31 weeks

Size of baby? The bump app says the size of a pineapple

Heartbeat? 138 BPM at the last apt

Total weight gain/loss? 20! :( Going to have a lot of work to do after this is all over with!

Maternity clothes? Yep and I'll be glad when I have more options. I have cute things, but I wear the same 8 things each week. And my t-shirts have stopped covering the tops of maternity jeans.

Stretch marks?  No, but I think bruising should count. His jabs are A LOT more painful!

Sleep? Not awesome for sure! Lots of crazy dreams and heart burn has been the worst! I'll be glad when sleep deprivation is due to baby rather than restlessness, leg cramps, scary dreams, etc.

Best moment this week? We picked a name!!!!...Just kidding. We picked a date though! The official C-section date will be March 14th unless he decides to make his appearance early. Hopefully he stays put until at least the 12th. That way I can work all the way up until Spring Break

Movement? Holy Moly!!! My skin is soooo sore in certain spots because he jabs and kicks so hard. The right side of my stomach is sensitive to the touch. He jabs his fist or his foot so hard into my stomach and then leaves it there until I push him back down. Emi mostly just rolled over and stuck her booty out which was far less painful. My stomach is constantly jumping around.

Food cravings?  There's a much longer list of foods I don't want right now due to heartburn!

Gender predictions? Still a boy.

What I miss:  Sleep!!! And comfort!

What I'm looking forward to:

How are you feeling?

2015 Reflection

2015
What. A. Year!
I don’t know whether to classify this year as good or as a total doozy! We had so many blessings this year, but also so many challenges, trials, disappointments, changes, loss, and stress!
It started with a bang with a surprise pregnancy which led to us buying a lot for a new house.
The loss of that pregnancy led to the search for a new job to be closer to the new house/where my family would be since I would no longer have an infant in the middle of a school year. After getting both jobs I had to make a very difficult decision choosing between the two (I know… hard life).
The spring was spent going back and forth with paperwork trying to legalize Bella moving in with us and getting our old house ready to sell. Obviously a blessing but a stressful time as well.
Then came selling a house. I NEVER want to do that again!! I don’t think I have ever seen Anthony more stressed dealing with the closing of the new house and the time frame for the old house. It didn’t help that the buyers were totally crazy and unrealistic!
When moving day came, the movers ruined every piece of furniture which was never resolved, and the very next week I started my new job.
After finding out we were pregnant again during the summer, I thought we experienced another loss in August. For the first 13 weeks, there was a roller coaster of not knowing if everything was normal or not. Finally after the 13 week mark, things smoothed out.
Anthony dealt with ups and downs at his new job and I fell into a rhythm with mine. We went through the transition of having Bella full time and adjusting to the new roles we were all playing.  Dealing with a teenage full time is WAY different than weekend duty. I kinda miss enjoying just the fun times, but I know long term this is the best solution.
Potty training was super stressful and I wasn’t sure we were going to survive. The move plus changing day cares really messed up any progress we had made.
But here we are at the beginning of 2016. We celebrated Christmas and Emi is on cloud 9 with her new bicycle, tablet, and Elsa dresses. She is fully potty trained (thank the Lord!!) and gone from baby to little girl over night! This summer we were barely putting together sentences and now she’s caring on full conversations.  We are expecting little man Piccolo in mid-March and everything seems perfect. His room is coming together and we’re down to 2 names.  Bella is living with us, has made new friends, and is doing well in school.  We are settled into our beautiful house that is still hard to believe is ours sometimes. I love my new job and have felt relatively little stress with the transition. There are things we miss about our old home/way of life, job, and child care, but all-in-all this change was way easier than if we had left our current situation to go to what we had. Bella talked about missing her friends the other day and I feel the same and the transition with Emi has been very hard (maybe more on me than her) but that’s the flow of life.  All-in-all this year has had more blessings than disasters so I guess this year will have to go in the good column. Hopefully 2016 will have less bumps and bruises and lives up to all of our expectations! Either way, I know it’ll work out just the way it’s supposed to!

30 weeks- 9 to go!!!

30 weeks with Emi
30 weeks baby boy

How far along? 30 weeks- 9 left!! Thank goodness!

Size of baby? The bump app says the size of a cucumber

Heartbeat? 131 BPM at the last apt

Total weight gain/loss? With Emi I had only gained 14. I didn’t weigh today and honestly I haven’t weighted in a few weeks. They’ll make me weigh at the dr next week so I’ll know then. I think at the last dr appointment it was still under 20.

Maternity clothes? Got some cute stuff for Christmas including a new pair of jeans that fit well. I probably won’t buy much more until the end since it’s on the end stretch.

Stretch marks?  Not that I’ve noticed. Lots of blue veins though. And of course Emi left behind some on my hips.

Sleep? Sleep is getting a little harder between the crazy dreams, heart burn, restlessness, and leg cramps. Emi has learned to sleep in which is nice, but I don’t really benefit from it at this point.

Best moment this week? I finally got the nursery organized and ready to add stuff. Everything that had to go is gone and now it’s kinda a blank slate and what I do have is organized.

Movement? Lots of moments. It’s like to moves to one side and that whole side of my stomach sticks out in a hard bump until he goes back down.

Food cravings?  Water and salad.

Gender predictions? Boy. It’s either Thomas Anthony or Eli Thomas at this point. I have an issue with Jrs or kids that have the II or III at the end of their name. It’s a hang up I have and I can’t get past it yet!

What I miss:  Sleep! I napped a lot over break which was nice, but I don’t sleep well at night at this point.

What I'm looking forward to:  Started planning for my shower which made it sorta exciting! Didn’t realize how few weekends are between now and then so that freaked me out, but we picked a date for a shower.

How are you feeling? Other than the sleep issue I don’t feel too terrible. I’m not comfortable, but that’s only going to get worse! I don’t have too many complaints so I guess I’m in good shape!

29 weeks

29 weeks with Emi

How far along?  29 weeks

Size of baby? The bump app says the size of an acorn squash.

Heartbeat? Last week at the appointment it was 131

Total weight gain/loss?

Maternity clothes? Yep. Thankfully I kept most of my pants so I just have had to buy some tops and dresses.
Stretch marks? Just the 2 on my hips from Emi still.

Sleep? Definitely uncomfortable! I toss and turn a lot because after awhile on one side my legs and hips will start to hurt. Plus laying down brings on acid reflux!

Best moment this week? Spending Christmas with my family.

Movement? He NEVER stops! And it's kinda painful. I feel like he's punching and jabbing all over the place. Plus he gets the hiccups pretty frequently!

Food cravings?  Maybe chips and dips. It's not like a crazy need, but I have wanted some chips and dips lately.

Gender predictions? Looking back at the posts from last time around we had apparently already picked the name! haha. And I thought we took forever last time. I have started putting his room together, but we're still stuck between 2 different names.

What I miss:  Being able to do things myself. I put up the Christmas stuff this week and most of it I was able to do, but I had to wait to carry up the tree and ornament tub since it was too heavy. I also have the itch to organize the garage. That's the only room in the house that was never put together during the move. It wouldn't be too hard if I could do it the way I wanted. I just want to be able to get to all the toys and tools when I want without climbing over things. Guess I'll just have to wait until summer.

What I'm looking forward to:  I was just told to start picking a date for a shower. I didn't realize that there weren't very many weekends between now and March. Yikes! So I spent some time finishing up a registry, cleaning out the nursery, and picking out decorations. It's getting real I guess!

How are you feeling? Acid reflux is beating me up! They say that means the baby will have a lot of hair. It was true with Emi, so I guess we'll see. I also have NO energy these days! I guess it doesn't really help that I've been fighting off a cold too! Speaking of, time for a nap!
